Dovetail Ink: Dios Te Salve María, la Virgen de la Caridad (11x14 print)

Article number: P-5871
Availability: Out of stock
This is a print of the artist’s 11x14 hand-drawn illustration portraying Our Lady of Charity (la Virgen de la Caridad), the Patron Saint of Cuba. Winding through the image is the full text of the Hail Mary prayer in Spanish ("Dios te salve, María, llena eres de gracia..."). Coral pinks and reds, blues, teals and yellows were used to highlight nautical design elements - appropriate to the story of the three men who, saved from a severe storm after praying to Mary, found the statue of la Virgen de la Caridad floating in the waves - yet completely dry. The original drawing was done using India ink pens on Bristol paper. Color was added using art markers (primarily prismacolor). No digital editing is used. This listing is for one unmatted 11x14 or 8x10 print, professionally printed on bright white, acid free 100lb paper by a small, locally owned printshop. A white border increases your options for framing. Each print is signed in pencil by the artist (me). This print pairs well with Our Father in Spanish (Padre Nuestro, the Lord's Prayer), which was drawn in a similar style using similar, but slightly more saturated, colors. The two prints look beautiful together - unique and meaningful set of art
