Written by Santiago Cort̩s-Sj̦berg, Manual para proclamadores de la palabra 2013 includes readings from the Mexican Lectionary for every Sunday and Holyday of Obligation for Year C, which begins on the First Sunday of Advent, providing readings to aid proclamation of the word of God. Each reading has been divided into sense lines to aid in better preparation and proclamation of the word of God. With this technique, we hope to better serve all Hispanic/Latino communities throughout the country. We hope our efforts will increase the participation of the assembly, not only in the Liturgy of the Word but in the entire liturgical life of the Church. The main purpose of Proclamadores is to aid in better proclamation of the word at Mass. It does so by providing all of the readings for every Sunday and holy day of obligation of the liturgical year. In these readings, suggestions are given as to which words should be stressed as one proclaims (via bolded words). It also provides margin notes at the side of the reading that give the user more detailed advice for a good proclamation (when to pause during a long sentence, for example). At the bottom of the readings themselves are commentaries that give the reader greater context (historical and/or theological background, for example). Proclamadores, like Workbook, is unique in what it brings together in a single volume. Proclamadores would be an excellent resource to distribute to every lector and reader in the parish. In Manual para proclamadores de la palabra, Liturgy Training Publications includes readings from the Leccionario Mexicano, the translation approved by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops for use in the dioceses of the United States. Each reading has been divided into sense lines to aid in better preparation and proclamation of the word of God. With this technique, we hope to better serve all Hispanic communities in the country. We hope our efforts will increase the participation of the assembly, not only in the Liturgy of the Word but in the entire liturgical life of the Church.
